About The Position

This permanent position located in Regina, SK reports to the Chief Financial Officer and assists with the preparation of the company’s financial results and budget management. Overall accounting functions include but are not limited to: Processing daily financial transactions including journal entries Preparing month end reports including broker and reinsurance reports Preparing monthly, quarterly and year end financial statements and supplementary regulatory reports with tight reporting deadlines Monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results against budget Preparing monthly account reconciliations, including bank accounts Preparing year-end audit working papers for the external auditor and actuary Assisting with the issuance of T4s, T4As and T5 slips Developing and maintaining relationships with business partners and customers As part of these ongoing responsibilities, the Senior Accountant must ensure all financial policies and procedures are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Requirements

  • diploma or degree in business/accounting
  • CPA Professional Designation or in the process of attaining
  • thorough knowledge of financial statements and reporting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time management, problem solving and command of the English language
  • Superior analytical and computer skills in excel spreadsheets and accounting systems
