About The Position
This position is responsible for preparing and entering monthly journal entries, creating financial statements, performing balance sheet account cross-checks, and scanning monthly work papers. It also involves preparing the workers' compensation report and performing various reconciliations. On a quarterly and annual basis, the role includes preparing and filing statements for insurance companies, preparing the combined annual statement, and being responsible for NAIC and AM Best filings. The role may also require performing other job-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Highly proficient with accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Five or more years in accounting.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and enter monthly journal entries for various entities.
- Create financial statements monthly for various entities.
- Perform cross-checks for balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Scan monthly work papers, including financial statements, manual journal entries, and monthly work papers, into ImageDesktop.
- Prepare the workers' compensation report for WC, AL, GL coverage.
- Perform various reconciliations.
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual statements for insurance companies.
- Prepare the combined annual statement.
- Responsible for NAIC and AM Best filings.
- Perform other duties as assigned/required.
