About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking an Accountant/Senior Accountant to support Fixed Asset Accounting activities for Virginia Power Distribution and Transmission functions, the service company, and the PowerPlan fixed asset subledger. This role involves capital project closing, account reconciliations, financial controls, and data analysis. The position also assists with PowerPlan administration and process improvements, acting as the primary point of contact for related invoices. The successful candidate will partner with business, finance, and technology teams to enhance reporting, data integrity, and PowerPlan processes. Responsibilities include evaluating and applying capitalization policies, researching accounting matters, and contributing to regulatory filings, rate cases, and special projects. The role also participates in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Dominion Energy offers a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking).

Requirements

  • Senior Accountant: 5-6+ years of general accounting experience or 4+ years of experience working in public accounting.
  • Accountant: 2-3 years of general accounting experience or 5+ years of experience working in public accounting.
  • A Master's degree will count as one year towards the experience requirement.
  • A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one full year of experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
