About The Position

Create Music Group is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting / Assistant Controller, this role will play a key part in the month-end close process, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity global organization. This position is ideal for a technically strong accountant who enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, driving process improvements, and partnering cross-functionally across the business. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, takes ownership of their work, and is passionate about building scalable accounting processes while mentoring junior team members. This is a hybrid position, and you will be expected to work from our Los Angeles office as necessary, directed by your Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and an active CPA license required
  • 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting
  • Experience working in high-growth, multi-entity, or private equity-backed organizations preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance accuracy and speed
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, working independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NetSuite preferred
  • Experience with FloQast is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned areas of the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations across a broad range of accounts, including but not limited to cash, debt, equity, payroll, intercompany, leases, revenue, cogs, and accruals
  • Support accounting for domestic and international subsidiaries, ensuring consistency and compliance across multiple legal entities
  • Perform variance analysis to explain period-over-period financial results
  • Investigate complex accounting issues, identify root causes of discrepancies, and implement sustainable solutions
  • Maintain well-documented, audit-ready account support and ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Support annual financial statement audits, compliance filings, and other external reporting requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve close timelines, reconciliations, internal controls, and accounting workflows
  • Drive automation and standardization initiatives that improve efficiency and scalability across the accounting function
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Staff Accountants by reviewing work, sharing best practices, and supporting professional development
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Technical Accounting, Operations, Legal, and other departments to ensure accurate accounting for business activities
  • Participate in special projects, acquisitions, system implementations, and other strategic finance initiatives as the company continues to grow
  • Other duties as assigned
