About The Position

KIOTI Tractor, a leader in the design and manufacture of compact tractors, utility vehicles, turf care, and compact construction equipment, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team onsite at our location in Wendell, NC. The Senior Accountant owns the daily accounting cycle and the monthly close for assigned areas with minimal day-to-day direction from the Director of Accounting. This person will be cross-trained and should be easily adaptable to any primary function within the Accounting Department, and is expected to take ownership of assigned workstreams and adjust quickly to shifting priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close ownership.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry daily accounting and close duties with minimal day-to-day direction.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to apply it to routine and non-routine transactions.
  • Experience with large ERP systems required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively present information.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • SAP and exposure to an ERP implementation or stabilization is a plus.
  • Korean language proficiency is a plus, not required; helpful for communication with our parent company.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform daily accounting activities, including journal entries, cash application, and AP/AR review.
  • Determine the proper handling of financial transactions in accordance with US GAAP and company policy.
  • Review work prepared by Staff and Junior Accountants for accuracy and proper classification.
  • Own assigned month-end close tasks and complete them on schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare and post month-end accruals, reserves, estimations, and adjusting journal entries.
  • Perform general ledger, bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules across multiple entities, with variance analysis for the Accounting Manager and C-Suite.
  • Maintain company fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reconciliations.
  • Support inventory accounting, including cycle counts, physical to book variances, and year-end counts.
  • Work within the company's ERP to validate system data and resolve subledger to general ledger discrepancies.
  • Document accounting procedures and recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting operations.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies; maintain proper documentation for audits.
  • Prepare schedules and respond to requests for quarterly reviews and the year-end audit.
  • Assist with income, property, and sales and use tax filings and support tax audits.
