Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. In lieu of a degree, additional years of experience may be considered.
  • 4+ years relevant professional experience required or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required competencies.
  • Strong Microsoft skills, including use of pivot tables, vlookups and analysis of data using Excel
  • Requires knowledge of accounting regulations of operational accounting issues.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with large ERP system; SAP preferred
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • CPA preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assigned month-end closing activities, including, journal entry preparation, approval, account analysis, intercompany transfers and account reconciliations.
  • Provide guidance and support related to master data requests, accounting compliance and reporting to business partners.
  • Provide guidance and support to our offshore team.
  • Responsible for preparation of annual federal and state tax packages
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, Abbott Corporate and division/department specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for assigned activities
  • Operate independently, be flexible in changing environment and challenge the status quo.
  • Support all Company initiatives and ad-hoc requests as identified by management.
