About The Position

As a Senior Accountant at Fiserv, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial processes. Leveraging your analytical skills and attention to detail, you will prepare and post journal entries, prepare account reconciliations, and assist in the monthly financial close. Your contributions will support our commitment to compliance with GAAP and enhance our operational efficiency. Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting experience in a corporate, public accounting, or similar financial environment.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, performing general ledger account reconciliations, and supporting a monthly financial close process
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic macros) to analyze and reconcile financial data.
  • Experience with accounting principles, including GAAP
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial statement presentation and basic U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting concepts
  • Accounting experience using SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems
  • Experience with process improvement, standardization, and documentation of accounting procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships, influence decision-making, and present financial information to non-financial audiences

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries for posting to the general ledger along with monthly general ledger account reconciliations
  • Analyze, verify, and record financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner
  • Prepare reporting and analysis to support understanding of assigned balance sheet accounts and to aid in business unit processes
  • Maintain documentation of all relevant processes and procedures as changes occur
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to obtain necessary information, clarify variances, and support compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting policies.
  • Support internal and external audit activities and inquiries, including documentation requests and control walkthroughs
  • Contribute to process improvements that increase the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of close and reconciliation activities.
