About The Position

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting of assigned reconciliations. This includes the maintenance of account balances, general ledger, and all reports. The role involves assisting with monthly close processes, consolidation, account reconciliations, and collaborating with external auditors. A key aspect of this position is to continuously identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting functions and increase the productivity of the corporate accounting team. The Senior Accountant will also serve as back-up for other members of the accounting team and may be assigned ad hoc projects or other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong experience and highly proficient in information technology and financial applications
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel.
  • Highly developed general accounting skills in corporate-level accounting and reporting activities.
  • Outstanding financial systems skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills; must be able to handle multiple projects with deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • 4 year bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
  • Experience with banking cash management systems, including processing electronic payments (ACH and Wires).
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer

Nice To Haves

  • SAGE Intacct ERP experience preferred but not required
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred but not required
  • Active (or actively pursuing) CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly close processes including (but not limited to): revenue, accounts receivable, inventory, payroll, prepaids, fixed assets, and treasury.
  • Assist with monthly consolidation process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management team.
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations, including researching and resolving discrepancies, as applicable.
  • Work collaboratively with external auditors to provide the appropriate support, explanations, etc. for annual 401k and financial reporting audits.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting functions to increase the productivity of the corporate accounting team.
  • Ad hoc projects/other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as back-up for other members of the accounting team.
