About The Position

The Convey team is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will work closely and collaborate with the team on tasks like monthly closing, expenses, payables, banking, and general accounting support. This is a great opportunity to join a well-supported team, and partner with a variety of cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting role; start-up environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of finance principles, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Excel; pivot tables, lookups, etc.
  • Data-driven with strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Enjoy diving into complex issues to find solutions with a “can do” attitude, but also working in a flexible, supportive, and energetic team-environment.
  • Strong communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for accounting and experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be a quick learner and comfortable with ambiguity and multitasking.
  • Highly motivated individual with the drive to learn and who knows how to work independently and within a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Netsuite experience, but similar software will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end closing processes and own responsibilities, such preparation of journal entries, intercompany entries, account reconciliation with supporting schedules, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, etc.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis comparing actual results to prior periods and budgeted figures.
  • Oversee and streamline processes related to specialized revenue streams, ensuring accurate recording and reporting.
  • Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Draft and maintain detailed documentation of accounting processes, including policy and procedure documents, working cross-functionally to complete.
  • Support and manage special projects and related ad-hoc accounting initiatives.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing processes, improve internal controls, seek new initiatives and display the willingness to take on special projects both individually and as part of a team.
  • Other tasks are based on team and business needs.
