Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of four (4) to five (5) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit, social services, healthcare, or government-funded environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, lookups, data analysis, and reconciliation of large datasets.
  • Experience using NetSuite or a comparable ERP/accounting system required; NetSuite experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent audits (e.g., financial statement audit, Single Audit/Uniform Guidance, or funder/program compliance audits) preferred.
  • Experience working with government contracts and grants preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly and year-end financial close processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and post journal entries in NetSuite, ensuring transactions are properly supported, approved, and coded.
  • Analyze account activity, investigate unusual balances and variances, and communicate findings to Finance leadership.
  • Review allocation results and identify expenses recorded to incorrect grants, programs, departments, or Undefined/unassigned segments.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for annual financial statement audits and other regulatory or funding-source audits.
  • Serve as a point of contact and support resource across the Organization's multiple concurrent audits and reviews (e.g., annual financial statement audit, Single Audit/Uniform Guidance audit, and funder- or program-specific compliance audits or monitoring visits from DMH, DCFS, LAHSA, LACOE, and other funders).
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding financial, employee, resident, vendor, contractor, and other sensitive agency information.
