About The Position

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the medical billing team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting. This position is responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, including month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with the Billing Manager to support revenue cycle management and performance, financial accuracy, and compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and payer requirements. Partner with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities as required, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can analyze financial data to provide insights that support strategic decision-making, including analyzing receivables and resolving outstanding balances to improve cash flow and reduce write offs. Ultimately, the Senior Accountant contributes to the financial health and transparency of the organization by maintaining robust accounting practices and controls, and supporting the billing team with third party billing and receivables management to optimize revenue cycle performance.

Requirements

  • BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years senior level accounting or financial management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with medical billing systems, accounts receivable, and revenue cycle management.
  • Must have excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of supervision experience preferred.
  • Certification in Medical Billing or Coding (CPC, CPB) or Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and CMS guidelines strongly preferred.
  • Advanced data analysis and financial modeling skills preferred.
