About The Position

Revolution Medicines is seeking a motivated individual with an accounting background to play a critical role as a Senior Accountant within the finance department. This position will be integral to accounting operations and will support the monthly and quarterly accounting close. This role is an individual contributor reporting to the Senior Accountant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with 5+ years of relevant experience in an accounting or auditing role.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and SEC reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate events, prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with interdepartmental teams.
  • Innovative, team-player with high energy for our rapidly growing company environment

Nice To Haves

  • Big 4 public accounting firm and CPA license big plus.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Experience working in a public company environment.
  • Experience with NetSuite and Coupa preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate journal entries for month-end and quarter-end close, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation. This includes and is not limited to G&A accruals, fixed assets, and prepaid amortization.
  • Prepare monthly cash and corporate credit card account journal entries, investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner, and ensure balances are accurately recorded and supported.
  • Perform periodic validation reviews of user access for financial systems such as Concur, Coupa, and similar platforms, ensuring access rights are appropriate and comply with internal controls.
  • Conduct quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, assist in SOX compliance efforts.
  • Complete and coordinate accounting‑related surveys and questionnaires.
  • Support the evaluation and improvement of financial policies and procedures.
  • Participate in process improvements, financial system enhancements, and special projects as needed.
  • Assist the tax/legal team in researching payment statuses, including franchise tax obligations and business registration.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned.
