About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation. This role involves assisting with the management of the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations, including accrual-based accounting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports and financial management.
  • Ability to perform filing and record-keeping tasks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance required.
  • Minimum three years of experience as staff accountant and reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and enters monthly journal entries.
  • Maintains and reconciles various ledger accounts including assets, liabilities, and capital accounts.
  • Has a leading role in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements.
  • Analyzes financial data and produce financial reports for management review.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and follow up to clear reconciling items.
  • Researches and corrects account discrepancies.
  • Assists in the preparation of local, state, and federal tax returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyzes budget variances and provide feedback to management.
  • Collaborates with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations for the annual audit.
  • Assists with internal audits and ensure implementation of recommended improvements.
  • Participates in special financial projects as required.
  • Recommends improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
  • Stays updated with industry trends and the latest best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Operates with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures.
