About The Position

As Senior Associate, Asset Accountant, you help build the accounting foundations that keep LA28 financially sound as the organization prepares to deliver the Games. Working within the Accounting Operations team, you run daily and monthly close activities in Workday, maintain the fixed asset and inventory subledgers, and support the audit and disclosure process end to end. You bring rigor, integrity, and a growth mindset to a specialty that scales quickly, giving leaders across the organization the reliable numbers they need to make sound financial decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • 4+ years of core accounting experience, ideally with exposure to non-profit accounting or large-scale event production businesses.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, including technical standards such as ASC 842 leases and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly bank reconciliations within a structured accounting environment.
  • Familiarity with Workday Financial Management, or a demonstrated ability to learn new financial systems quickly and independently.

  • An active CPA license, or clear and demonstrable progress toward one.

  • Comfort improving controls and processes within a fast-growing finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily and monthly general ledger accounting in Workday, including bank reconciliations, month-end accruals, and detailed account reconciliation.
  • Record ASC 842 lease accounting entries and support the team's monthly management reporting process from close through review.
  • Support the asset management function by testing the inventory subledger and maintaining the fixed asset and inventory subledgers.
  • Assist with financial audit preparation, drafting schedules and supporting documentation for disclosures across the reporting cycle.
  • Partner across Accounting Operations to strengthen internal controls and improve close processes as the finance function scales.
