About The Position
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant. This role will be responsible for key accounting functions, including month-end close, journal entries, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and audit support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong general ledger accounting experience required
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Audit preparation and support experience preferred
- Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus
- QuickBooks experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation to auditors
- Analyze financial data and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Support process improvements and accounting best practices
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
