About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing all financial and accounting functions within Downtown Fabworks. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with industry regulations, and effective internal controls. The senior accountant will work with project managers, HR, and senior leadership to provide financial insights that drive profitability and support long-term growth.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Strong knowledge of fabrication accounting, job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong leadership and communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Cash flow management for project-based businesses
Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Payroll accounting and journal entry accuracy
Strong business acumen and decision support
Team leadership and staff development

Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
Manage job costing, WIP schedules, and project billing for accurate project financials
Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations across operating, payroll, and project accounts
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Develop, implement, and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections within NetSuite ERP
Maintain budgets in NetSuite ERP, including updates and variance analysis
Prepare and record payroll journal entries, including wages, taxes, and benefits accruals
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
Support AP and AR processes to ensure timely and accurate posting
Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff
