About The Position

As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for hands-on operations of the company’s accounting team. You will grow the company’s profitable business and ensure the financial well-being of the company in all areas of its operations. Additional responsibilities will include managing phases of the day-to-day accounting process and assisting with the annual budgeting process, and company year-end audits. Senior Accountant responsibilities include developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information and working closely with the financial management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting with 3+ years of managerial experience required.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations with GAAP experience required and Percentage of Completion accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to generate and analyze income statement, balance sheet, revenue forecast, and cash flow statements.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze and manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Ability to manage accounting department and deliver complete month end reporting.
  • Must be proficient in utilizing and interpreting financial models and analyses.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly adapt, learn, and deploy new concepts.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office accounting software and databases.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Sage and Power BI considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Support implementations, migration, or upgrades of financial systems.
  • Maintain daily bank deposits, monthly reconciliation, and wire transfers.
  • Provide payroll support and oversight.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial reports and information.
  • Issue timely, accurate, and complete weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Accounts payable/receivable review and oversight.
  • General ledger management.
  • Weekly/Monthly/Annual cash and revenue/earnings forecasting.
  • Revenue and expenditure analysis.
  • Job Cost / WIP / POC reconciliation and analysis.
  • Fixed asset management and reconciliations.
  • Support timely A/R collections.
  • Review and analyze ERP system information for accuracy.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and assist with annual audits and tax requests.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives.
  • Work with operations to monitor project budgets.
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and reconciliations to document transactions.
  • Assist other team members as necessary to achieve organization’s overall operational and financial goals.
