About The Position
Quincy Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting experience; financial institution experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.

- Financial institution experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, account classifications, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, schedules, and reports.
- Analyze general ledger activity, financial results, reserves, assets, liabilities, and variances; identify discrepancies and recommend corrective action.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes and ensure records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
- Collaborate with departments to resolve accounting issues and provide guidance on accounting procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Communicate significant accounting issues and recommendations to management.
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable Specialist and assist with Finance projects as needed.
