About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing complex account reconciliations, supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role plays a key part in financial reporting, audit support, and process improvement initiatives within the finance function.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with ERP or accounting software (e.g., Eclipse, Oracle, Great Plains, Peachtree, or similar systems)

  • Public accounting experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform general accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries, and reconciliations for general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement accounts
  • Prepare fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliation
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is accurate and complete
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with annual external audits, including preparation of supporting schedules and workpapers
  • Assist with tax, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency
  • Maintain and document accounting procedures and internal controls
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with finance, payroll, operations, and external partners
  • Participate in and support special accounting projects as assigned
