About The Position

The Parking Spot is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant with 2-3 years of experience, ideally from public accounting. This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and offers significant ownership and visibility within the accounting function, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and grow within the team over time. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented problem solver who enjoys identifying solutions, navigating challenges, and collaborating with others to achieve successful outcomes. This role is well suited for someone ready to transition from executing established processes in public accounting to owning and shaping them in an in-house setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 2-3 years of experience (Big 4/National accounting firm experience a plus)
  • CPA designation or working towards CPA
  • Exceptional Excel skills
  • Detail oriented and focused on accuracy, with the ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Experienced with financial reporting systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and a customer-oriented approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external teammates and partners at all levels
  • Ability to deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Proactive approach and consistent follow-through on assigned tasks
  • Desire to learn and grow with the organization

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close process end-to-end from journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis, with full accountability for accuracy and timeliness
  • Research technical GAAP issues as they arise and recommend treatment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls within the accounting function
  • Review the work of junior accounting staff, provide mentorship, and help develop their technical skills
  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex or unusual accounting questions from the broader team
  • Partner with other departments to ensure fixed assets are properly capitalized in compliance with GAAP
  • Perform other duties as assigned
