Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
  • Five years of progressive accounting experience or three years of financial services accounting experience.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, complex accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and financial services operations.
  • Ability to independently analyze issues, make sound decisions, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complex accounting activities, investigate discrepancies, prioritize work effectively, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy while handling confidential financial information, preparing high-quality work products, and maintaining compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence, mentor others, and provide accounting-related education and guidance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and technology tools.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and perform effectively in a high-volume environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Cost Accounting and Financial Data Analysis experience.
  • Financial Services Accounting experience.
  • Previous mentoring experience.
  • Data extraction system experience (SQL, PowerBI, etc.).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced assistance to the Accounting Manager in the overall operation of the Accounting Department.
  • Serve as a backup to the Accounting Manager in their absence.
  • Execute projects with varying degrees of complexity as assigned.
  • Perform accounting duties and reporting in compliance with GAAP and state and federal regulations.
