About The Position

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. They will be responsible for preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with financial statement preparation. This role is a blend of recurring accounting functions and the opportunity to work on variable projects as the business grows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required, master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Solid technical knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong proficiency in accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience in managing and coordinating multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrate adaptability in learning and applying AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and process scalability within accounting and finance workflows.

Nice To Haves

• Wind and/or solar energy project development, renewable energy industry and partnership experience preferred through not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal.
• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reporting, including consolidated financial statements.
• Reconcile and analyze complex accounts, including intercompany transactions, fixed assets, accrued expenses, debt, and revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and development teams to ensure proper classification of costs and alignment on financial treatment.
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors during the year-end audit.
• Participate in project meetings and provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems and processes to scale with organizational growth.
• Complete other duties as assigned with the accounting and finance teams.
