About The Position

The Senior Accountant will serve as the primary accountant for assigned markets, maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. This role involves performing general accounting activities, ensuring the integrity of financial data, and handling daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for month-end close activities, including reviewing and posting invoices, preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting with audits and tax filings. Additionally, the role involves preparing monthly financial reporting packages, analyzing account activity, uploading budgets and forecasts, and collaborating with various internal departments to support assigned markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • Experience in the entertainment or hospitality industry.
  • Experience with specific accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Experience with tax reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary accountant for assigned markets.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Perform general accounting activities and ensure the integrity of financial data for assigned entities.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations for assigned markets.
  • Reconcile ticketing systems, merchant processors, bank activity, and the general ledger.
  • Research and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized and complete supporting documentation for all reconciliations.
  • Review and post Accounts Payable invoices for assigned markets prior to posting.
  • Complete month-end close activities for assigned markets.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Ensure all month-end deadlines are met accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end audit requests.
  • Assist with sales tax, amusement tax, and other tax reporting and filing requirements.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
  • Assist with special projects and financial analyses as assigned.
  • Assist CAO in preparing monthly financial reporting packages for assigned markets.
  • Analyze account activity and investigate significant variances.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and reports as requested by supervisor.
  • Upload annual budgets and periodic forecasts into the financial system.
  • Review budget data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist CAO with budget reporting and forecast updates as needed.
  • Partner with Operations, Ticketing, Settlements, and other internal departments to support assigned markets.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to internal requests.
  • Support additional accounting responsibilities across multiple markets as business needs evolve.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented accounting department.
