Senior Accountant
About The Position
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. This role participates in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, analyzes financial results, and explains account variances. The position ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controls, and supports internal and external audit requests. Additionally, the Senior Accountant assists with financial statement preparation and management reporting, maintains balance sheet reconciliations, resolves outstanding reconciling items, and supports SOX compliance and documentation. A key part of this role involves reviewing production order settlements and manufacturing postings within SAP.
Requirements
- BS or BA degree in accounting or Finance
- CPA required.
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- SAP experience
- Possess a strong general accounting knowledge, including GAAP and related principles and practices.
- Sound business judgement and ability to synthesize, analyze, and extract implications from data.
- Ability to frame unstructured and complex analytical problems to a broad audience.
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to regularly interface with executive management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Word.
Nice To Haves
- Big Four experience preferred
- Public company and Aerospace & Defense Industry experience preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4 Hana and Analytics Cloud is a plus.
