  • Familiarity with Texas-specific business taxes and a strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, “poker-room” environment where adaptability and discretion are paramount.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in hospitality, restaurant/F&B operations, gaming, or high-volume retail is a significant plus.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience in a restaurant, hotel F&B, or club with full kitchen operations strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with food & beverage COGS tracking, inventory management, and POS system integration is a significant plus.
  • CPA or CMA candidate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and oversee the accuracy of entries.
  • Perform advanced reconciliations for high-volume cash accounts, merchant processing, and intercompany transactions across multiple locations.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports for review by the VP of Finance.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits. Ensure all state and local tax filings (Sales tax, Mixed Beverage tax, etc.) are accurate and timely.
  • Identify inefficiencies in our current workflows and implement scalable solutions to streamline reporting as we expand.
  • Serve as a technical resource to the two Staff Accountants. Answer questions, share best practices, and help raise the team’s overall quality.
  • Oversee food & beverage cost of goods tracking, inventory reconciliation, recipe costing, and spoilage/waste accounting across the three full-kitchen club locations. Ensure accurate POS integration with the general ledger and maintain compliance with Mixed Beverage tax obligations.
