Senior Accountant
About The Position
Collin Street Bakery has been a Corsicana, Texas institution since 1896, known nationwide for our world-famous DeLuxe® Fruitcake and other handcrafted baked goods. We're looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team and help support the accuracy and integrity of our accounting operations as we continue to grow. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in full cycle accounting, inventory accounting, and account reconciliation within a manufacturing environment. This is an in-person, exempt position based at our Corsicana, Texas facility, reporting to the Accounting/Finance leadership team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Demonstrated experience with full cycle accounting.
- Experience with inventory accounting.
- Experience in performing account reconciliations.
- Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using NetSuite ERP software.
Responsibilities
- Manage full cycle accounting functions, including journal entries, month-end and year-end close processes, and financial reporting.
- Perform inventory accounting, including cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis in a manufacturing setting.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations for balance sheet and general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support the maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support operational and manufacturing decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost and inventory data.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and drive efficiencies using NetSuite and related systems.
