We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a CIRO / OSC regulated firm, with a strong emphasis on regulatory reporting and disciplined execution. This role is well suited for a recent CPA or CPA candidate near completion who is ready to take ownership of core accounting processes and build deep experience within the Canadian wealth management industry.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • CPA designation completed or near completion (CPA Canada), with demonstrated progress toward certification
  • Solid foundation in accounting principles and IFRS
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting in a CIRO and/or OSC regulated environment
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting and reporting systems
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage recurring deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in asset management, wealth management, investment dealers, or portfolio management firms
  • Familiarity with CIRO rules, capital calculations, and regulatory filing requirements
  • Experience supporting audits or regulatory reviews

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily and monthly accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and variance analysis
  • Play a key role in the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Prepare and support CIRO and OSC regulatory reporting, including recurring financial and compliance-related filings
  • Support Net Capital calculations and ongoing monitoring of capital adequacy requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation to ensure audit and regulatory readiness
  • Work closely with Compliance and Operations teams to ensure consistency between accounting records and regulatory submissions
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of working papers and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency as the business grows
