About The Position

Crest Operations is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. Crest Industries, with companies across the United States, focuses on bringing together people and resources to meet challenges and drive innovation. This Senior Accountant role is critical to the financial reporting and close process, primarily supporting Crest Natural Resources (CNR) and its related entities. The position ensures accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial results within a complex, multi-entity environment. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with operations and leadership in the forestry business, while adhering to Crest's broader accounting standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong financial close experience, thrive in a dynamic environment, and be able to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial close
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas)
  • Demonstrated experience with GAAP-compliant financial reporting

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Maintain supporting documentation for all balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations
  • Assist with revenue analysis, key financial metrics, and performance insights
  • Partner with operations to improve financial visibility and decision-making
  • Support external audits and respond to auditor requests
  • Maintain documentation to support internal controls and compliance requirements
  • Assist in developing and improving accounting policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with external partners (e.g., tax providers) as needed
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Support ERP and system enhancements or implementations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate and consistent financial data flow
