About The Position

BLS is seeking a Senior Accountant with experience or advanced technical knowledge in financial statements—including compilations, reviews, and audits—and tax compliance for for-profit business entities. The role includes preparing and reviewing work papers and preparing the financial statements and tax returns needed for compliance. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
2–5 years of public accounting experience in a tax environment.
CPA certification or evidence of working toward certification.
Working knowledge of GAAP and small business tax compliance.
Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of ProSystem/Axcess software, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and other programs related to tax planning, depreciation, and accounting.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute compilation, review, and audit engagements for a variety of for-profit organizations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements.
Prepare semi-complex tax returns.
Make inquiries to various tax authorities.
Resolve accounting problems and tax issues.
Mentor new staff on assignments, if applicable.
