The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing the critical accounting functions within the organization, most critically the payroll function, in order to produce efficient and accurate financial reporting. The accounting manager will also assist with critical project related maintenance, asset tracking, cash receipts, insurance, staff training, staff supervision, and credit card accounting. Oversee the payroll process and assist with management of the other core functions of the department including billing, invoicing, cash management, job costing, project requirement maintenance and tracking. Work within the accounting department and beyond to achieve the organization’s objectives. Assist in developing, documenting, and enforcing standard operating procedures. Support the Senior Controller in financial decisions and monitor adherence to policies and internal controls. Support the team and Senior Controller with month end close, financial and variance reports, WIP schedules and Cost to Complete estimates. Assist the Senior Controller with financial statement audits and preparation of state and local tax returns. Ensure that current processes and results comply with relevant regulation and law. Help to create a culture and practices that make our records accurate and the access to those records secure and simple. Help to create a workplace that encourages personal development and growth as well as transparent communication and feedback. Utilize personnel and technological resources to ensure efficient and effective financial reporting. Monitor and test the effectiveness of internal controls.
