About The Position

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including month-end close activities, maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and reviewing financial statements and reports. This role involves analyzing financial information, assisting with budget preparation and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with internal control procedures. The Senior Accountant will also be involved in account reconciliations, analyzing expenses, monitoring inventory, and identifying cost-saving solutions. Collaboration with the shared services team on accounts payable and receivable, as well as ad hoc analysis and special projects, will be key components of this position.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Manufacturing accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports.
• Analyze financial information and prepare reports for management.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations.
• Analyze labor, material, and overhead expenses.
• Compare actual spending to expected or expectations and explain the differences.
• Monitor inventory value, track stock levels, and help reconcile physical counts.
• Assist with identifying production issues, utilization, and cost-saving solutions.
• Liaise with the shared services team on accounts payable and accounts receivable matters.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and data requests to support various finance and management functions.
• Participate in special projects as deemed necessary.
