About The Position

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with government contracting (GovCon) experience who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with complex accounting processes in a dynamic organization. This position offers a primarily remote work arrangement with occasional onsite presence in the Arlington, VA area as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA required
• Experience working in a government contracting environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, and general ledger accounting
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with the broader team

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Assist with government contract accounting and compliance requirements
• Ensure accuracy of financial records and adherence to accounting policies
• Support audits, financial statement preparation, and reporting requirements
• Analyze accounting data and identify process improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial and operational matters
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed
