Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 2-4 years of experience in a staff accountant role or 1 year in a senior accountant role.
  • A strong problem solver, fast learner, and hardworking individual who can maintain multiple different priorities.
  • An adaptable person who is highly collaborative and fosters strong teamwork.
  • Ability to collaborate in a virtual environment and enjoys a challenge in a fast-paced workplace.
  • Experience with systems such as Concur, ADP, and Sage Intacct.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts including Fixed Assets, Investments, Accrued Liabilities, Payroll, recording journal entries, and supporting the monthly close processes.
  • Manage the accounts payable cycle, including invoice and expense report review and approvals, inputting expense vouchers into Concur reporting, payment processing (checks, ACH, wires), and vendor issue resolution.
  • Process payroll changes and oversee bi-weekly payroll in coordination with HR, including audits, ADP submissions, and retirement/HSA contribution reporting.
  • Monitors the daily compliance with federal and state regulations including W-2 and 1099 reporting, state property tax filings, and escheatment requirements.
  • Support the annual audit by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation; participate in internal control and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation of financial workflows and contribute to the development of new procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency of the financial reporting function.
  • Directly work with and assist the Controller and CFO in tasks such as budgeting, financial reporting, and financial system conversions for the Association.
