About The Position

Responsible for general accounting functions including month end close process (journal entries and account reconciliations) and account analysis. This individual will assist the US Controller in effectively performing these functions and streamlining processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of three years of practical accounting experience in the manufacturing industry
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTable, etc.)
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, correspondence, safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write correspondence, routine reports and substantiate via verbal or written mediums.
  • Ability to speak effectively and present information one-on-one and before small groups of clients or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to manage, organize, analyze and decipher large amounts of data.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems via a logical, analytic approach.
  • Ability to validate work using verification techniques.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment, intermediate PC skills, experience working with ERP systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly accounting close process.
  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and analyze account reconciliations, including follow-up and closure of discrepancies.
  • Perform some cost accounting tasks as needed, requiring some familiarity with standard material costs and labor/overhead rates.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with financial and operational audits and assist CFO with managing the year-end audit.
  • Correspond with other departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure activity is properly recorded in the general ledger.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Perform various accounting, financial or administrative tasks, often on short notice, at the request of management.
