About The Position

We’re growing and we’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. This role supports our Tax & Business Advisory practice at the firm and is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented professional and takes pride in delivering high-touch, personalized service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required
  • Minimum 2+ years of progressive experience in tax preparation and planning within a public accounting firm, family office, or wealth management environment
  • Experience researching and applying federal, state, and local tax codes, especially as they relate to small businesses, owners, real estate, and pass-through entities
  • Ability to contribute to client meetings, including comfort discussing tax matters with clients and colleagues in a relatable, jargon-free manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-first mindset
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning and growth
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Willingness to adopt new technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or EA designation preferred (or CPA/EA-eligible with active pursuit of licensure within 12 months)
  • Familiarity with estate, gift, and generation-skipping tax planning is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in tax software platforms such as ProSystems, QuickBooks, Drake, SurePrep, TaxDome, UltraTax is a plus
  • Experience with cloud-based document management systems and secure file sharing tools

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, and estate tax returns, including multi-state filings, basis schedules, M-1 adjustments, and estimated tax payments
  • Provide proactive tax planning and year-end projection analysis for high-net-worth clients and closely held businesses
  • Respond to IRS and state notices, manage audits, and handle tax authority correspondence
  • Clearly communicate tax results and implications to clients verbally and in writing
  • Conduct research on complex tax issues and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and planning opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes and implement technology solutions to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and priorities
  • Maintain thorough documentation of client communications and workpapers to support audit readiness and internal standards
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annal financial statements and supporting workpapers
  • Review and approve account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis
