About The Position

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements and management reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role involves performing financial and variance analysis, overseeing general ledger activities, and supporting accounts payable and receivable functions. The Senior Accountant will also assist with tax-related activities, support external audits, and maintain and strengthen internal controls. Additionally, this position will provide guidance to accounting team members, help establish and improve accounting policies, monitor cash flow, and stay current on accounting standards. The role includes participating in financial reviews, assisting with financial reporting packages, and supporting special projects. A key aspect of this role is identifying opportunities to improve and automate financial processes through technology and advanced tools, contributing to ongoing process improvements for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Several years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  • Experience working with an ERP or accounting system and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general financial reporting principles.
  • Knowledge of tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with accounting team members.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling financial information.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to financial reporting, analysis, and process automation tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Perform financial and variance analysis to identify trends, explain results, and support business decisions.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly and annual close processes.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Assist with tax-related activities and coordinate with external advisors as needed.
  • Support external audits and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting team members, including training and development.
  • Help establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with maintaining appropriate liquidity.
  • Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in periodic financial reviews and communicate financial results to management.
  • Assist with preparation of recurring financial reporting packages for leadership.
  • Support special projects and other initiatives as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial processes through technology, reporting tools, and advanced spreadsheet capabilities.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
