In this role, you'll lead critical accounting initiatives, ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, collaborate on strategic projects, and help strengthen the financial foundation that supports our Members and communities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance and either five years of progressive accounting experience or three years of financial services accounting experience.
Must be bondable.
Advanced knowledge of GAAP, complex accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and financial services operations, with the ability to independently analyze issues, make sound decisions, and implement effective solutions.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex accounting activities, investigate discrepancies, prioritize work effectively, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy while handling confidential financial information, preparing high-quality work products, and maintaining compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment, prepare reports and business correspondence, mentor others, and provide accounting-related education and guidance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and technology tools, with the ability to quickly learn new systems, manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and perform effectively in a high-volume environment.

Nice To Haves

Cost Accounting and Financial Data Analysis experience.
Financial Services Accounting experience.
Previous mentoring experience.
Data extraction system experience (SQL, PowerBI, etc.).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced assistance to the Accounting Manager in the overall operation of the Accounting Department and serves as a backup to the Accounting Manager in their absence.
Execute projects with varying degrees of complexity as assigned.
Perform accounting duties and reporting in compliance with GAAP and state and federal regulations.
