About The Position

CCARC, Inc. is seeking an experienced senior accountant to join our finance team. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance and is responsible for supporting the overall financial operations of CCARC, Inc. and the CCARC Foundation. CCARC is looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can work collaboratively, maintain accurate financial records, support the finance team, and contribute to efficient and effective financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and GAAP.
  • Proficiency with computerized accounting/payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver’s license, insurable driving record, and access to a vehicle as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Blackbaud, ADP Workforce Now, and QuickBooks Online preferred.
  • Experience with DDS contracts and/or other state agency accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Oversee and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and payroll functions.
  • Assist with client representative payee accounts, including reconciliations, direct deposits, invoice payments, and account maintenance.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and assist with 401(k) audit preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train finance team members and review daily accounting activities.
  • Assist with implementation and training related to new accounting systems.
  • Serve as backup for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
