About The Position

As a Senior Accountant at Jasper, you will play a key role on our Accounting team in a fast-growing, high-impact environment. You will hold core ownership across our monthly close, general ledger operations, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring our financial foundation operates with rigor and scale. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally across the business to streamline processes, enhance internal workflows, and support Jasper’s continued growth. This fully remote role reports to the Controller and is open to candidates located anywhere in the US.

Requirements

  • AI fluency — a working understanding of core AI concepts (LLMs, agents, copilots, tokens, credits, context windows, RAG, data governance, etc.), applied in the context of accounting, financial operations, and workflow automation
  • Active CPA license (required)
  • 3+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced technology or high-growth SaaS environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close procedures, and account reconciliation best practices
  • Direct, hands-on experience with modern cloud ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Direct experience working with modern financial and accounting tooling (such as Ramp for spend management, Numeric for close management, Maxio for SaaS billing/revenue, and Carta for equity administration) or comparable platforms
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • High attention to detail and ability to operate independently with minimal direction

Nice To Haves

  • Prior public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm) strongly preferred
  • Exposure to technical accounting areas (e.g., ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 340 capitalized commissions, equity accounting) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead an accurate and timely month-end close by preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations across cash, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts
  • Manage close workflows, task tracking, and balance sheet reconciliations within Numeric to drive close efficiency and transparency
  • Oversee corporate card transactions, employee expense reimbursements, and accounts payable workflows utilizing Ramp
  • Reconcile subscription billing, SaaS metrics, and payment gateway transactions within Maxio
  • Maintain equity transaction records, stock-based compensation schedules, and capitalization table reporting in Carta
  • Oversee monthly variable compensation calculations and proper accounting treatment (ASC 340)
  • Ensure accounting records, policies, and operational processes adhere strictly to US GAAP and maintain sound internal controls
  • Partner cross-functionally across departments to capture transaction details, investigate reconciling items, and resolve operational variances
  • Support the annual financial statement audit, tax filings, and external compliance requirements
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting, system enhancements, and special projects as needed
