About The Position

The Senior Accountant role will be central to our finance team, reporting to our Accounting Manager, and will deliver trusted, accurate financial statements and reporting. This role is critical in building scalable processes, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making as we continue to grow. The Senior Accountant will be a key member of our finance team, partnering closely with the team to deliver accurate, timely, and trusted financial reporting. While the role will have no direct reports, the senior accountant will assist in developing junior staff into a proactive, solution-oriented team.

Requirements

  • A deep understanding of accounting principles and best practices to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting
  • Comfortable with tight month-end close deadlines and the ability to deliver against deadlines
  • Experience in dealing with internal and external auditors
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel for financial analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role, managing and developing an accounting team
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA, or equivalent qualification, is preferred
  • Experience working in a high-growth business, ideally in a multi-entity environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Analyze trends, variances, and account activity to ensure financial accuracy
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to deliver accurate financial statements within tight deadlines
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making
  • Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements
  • Assist in developing and refining accounting policies to improve efficiency
  • Drive efficiency through process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Enhance data quality and scalability across finance systems and workflows
  • Develop and mentor the junior staff into a trusted, solution-oriented partner for the greater organization
