About The Position

The Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting plays a key role in CMCO’s global monthly consolidation and reporting process. This role applies expertise in U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements to prepare external financial statements and internal management reports, accurately record transactions within CMCO’s ERP and consolidation systems, and reconcile various balance sheet accounts. The role also includes supporting the administration of CMCO’s accounting information systems. Working closely with the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting provides regular status updates, identifies risks and opportunities, escalates departmental needs, and proactively drives process improvements.

Requirements

  • Strong technical understanding of US GAAP.
  • Familiarity with U.S. financial accounting statements.
  • Strong understanding of CMCO’s various accounting information systems including Oracle’s. FCCS consolidation system and the SAP ERP system.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. SEC statutory reporting requirements.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel data processing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, highly productive environment where projects and direction can change quickly while creating thorough and detailed designs and documentation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting function preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the consolidation of CMCO’s worldwide financial statements.
  • Prepare consolidation journal entries and review results for accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with SEC and U.S. GAAP regulations (i.e. 10Q and 10K).
  • Prepare periodic management reports, statement of cash flows, and other financial statements.
  • Prepare internal control documentation in compliance with the SOX framework and Company policies.
  • Analyze financial information and summarize results for management.
  • Reconcile several monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
  • Direct other staff and interns in the completion of their responsibilities.
  • Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Ensure the proper global application of U.S. GAAP, Corporate Policies and Procedures, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
