About The Position

The Corporate Accountant role applies general accounting and cost accounting principles to analyze, calculate, prepare, and record financial data, supporting the maintenance of accurate accounting records, financial reporting, and informed business decision-making.

Requirements

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint software.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management and other employees of the organization.
  • Maintains a collaborative, team relationship with peers and colleagues to effectively contribute to the group’s achievement of goals and to help foster a positive work environment.

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Compile monthly/periodic reports from information calculated or obtained from CMCO’s various ERP systems.
  • Assist with month-end close including journal entry preparation from various data sources.
  • Prepare and provide audit support documentation and respond to internal and external auditor requests.
  • Analyzes data and prepares monthly account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance to company policies.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and process transactions between subsidiaries to ensure accurate consolidation.
  • Analyze expense variances against budget/forecast, identifying potential risks and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Participate in CMCO’s global consolidation process.
  • Participate in CMCO’s SEC reporting requirements.
  • Provides financial support and recommendations to other departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
