About The Position

Smythe LLP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Audit Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently designated CPA who is eager to expand their technical expertise, develop leadership skills, and work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients across a variety of industries. This role is based in our Vancouver office, with the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment following the completion of the probationary period. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in the execution of assurance engagements, working closely with Managers and Partners to deliver exceptional client service. You will have the opportunity to strengthen your technical knowledge, build trusted client relationships, and mentor junior team members while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment. This position offers a clear path for continued growth and advancement within the firm.

Requirements

  • CPA designation with 2 to 4 years of public practice experience in audit and assurance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, ASPE, and Canadian assurance standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • A proactive mindset and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional client service and building long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Execute audits and reviews for private company clients.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with IFRS and ASPE.
  • Identify accounting, auditing, and tax issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Work directly with Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality client service and engagement outcomes.
  • Supervise and review the work of junior team members.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the Audit Group.
  • Support a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence.
