About The Position

Step into a role that gives you real ownership of client engagements from start to finish. As an Audit Senior, you’ll lead audit, review, and compilation engagements. You'll shape the plan, guide fieldwork, and drive deliverables through completion. This is a hands-on position where you’ll dig into complex and high-risk areas, apply sharp analytical thinking, and work directly with clients to ensure clarity, confidence, and timely results. If you enjoy balancing technical accounting work with meaningful client interaction, this role offers both depth and variety. Audit Seniors play a key role in developing others and elevating the quality of the team’s work. From coordinating fieldwork logistics and managing timelines to coaching associates and reviewing workpapers, you’ll help ensure projects stay on track and meet high standards. You’ll partner closely with managers and firm leadership, communicate insights and issues proactively, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment. This is a hybrid role working in the office 2-3 days a week after training is completed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare for engagements by coordinating with engagement manager to assess overall engagement risk and corresponding testing procedures.
  • Review PBC lists, client correspondence, interim financial activity and other information to ensure staff is prepared for fieldwork.
  • Coordinate fieldwork schedule and logistics of engagement with client.
  • Communicate with engagement team to ensure their understanding of logistics, schedule and assignments.
  • Balance work assignments of team members based on technical ability, staff development opportunities, and make adjustments during fieldwork to ensure projects complete on time and on budget with a quality deliverable.
  • Analyze complex and significant engagement risk areas.
  • Research technical audit issues and properly document with clear conclusions.
  • Highlight technical issues identified during engagement to manager and/or shareholder.
  • Monitor and review progress made by associates on their assigned audit sections.
  • Provide feedback and technical assistance for issues that might arise during fieldwork.
  • Ensure timelines are met.
  • Communicate regularly with clients during the field work phase of the engagement to answer questions, obtain information, and discuss issues and progress of the engagement.
  • Mentor assigned staff through coaching to assist them in acquiring and refining sound audit skills and professional judgment.
  • Prepare checklists, review work papers, and perform other tasks required for final delivery of financial statements and/or other engagement deliverables.
  • Communicate with manager and shareholder with progress reports, significant issues and wrap up plan.
  • Effectively and efficiently use technology tools in the documentation of your work product and communications including Engagement, Microsoft Word, Excel, Active Data and other software as necessary.

  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the Audit Shareholder In-Charge to support the needs of the organization.
