About The Position

The Audit Senior role is responsible for overseeing a broad range of assurance engagements for diverse clients including nonprofit, real estate, manufacturing, and construction. The position involves preparing and reviewing audits, compilations, and review engagements, ensuring adherence to firm policies and quality standards. The Senior will also review accounting data and financial statements, identify and research assurance-related questions, and serve as a client contact to build trusted relationships. Additionally, this role includes supervising, training, and mentoring junior staff and interns, staying current on accounting standards, and collaborating with firm leadership on engagement execution and process improvement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years public accounting experience with an assurance background
  • Strong technical knowledge across different levels of assurance engagement
  • Willing to manage and develop a team
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
  • Prior experience at a firm of meaningful scale and complexity
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license
  • Experience with CCH Engagement software environment (or demonstrated ability to learn new platforms quickly)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a broad range of assurance engagements spanning nonprofit, real estate, manufacturing, and construction clients.
  • Prepare and detail review audits, compilations, and review engagements while supporting client data in accordance with firm policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Review accounting data and financial statements while adhering to budget and engagement guidelines.
  • Identify and research assurance-related questions, including opportunities for workflow efficiencies.
  • Serve as a client contact, maintaining direct communication and building trusted relationships.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor 2–3 direct reports, including staff and interns.
  • Stay current on GAAP, SAS, and GAGAS changes and assess their impact on client engagements.
  • Assist team members with client management by gathering assurance information, researching issues, and recommending business and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on engagement execution, process improvement, and maintaining the firm’s reputation for technical excellence.
