Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) provides business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions to organizations and individuals seeking limitless possibilities. With offices across North America, we combine the personalized service model of a local consultant with the global resources of the world’s leading professional services firm, Marsh (NYSE: MRSH). A Senior Account Manager, Employee Health & Benefits, manages a dynamic and varied workload that involves balancing client service, compliance, and strategic planning. Their responsibilities include promptly addressing new client inquiries, providing regular status updates, and escalating issues to the Account Executive when necessary. Maintaining strong client relationships is a key focus, achieved through scheduled 30-day check-in calls and ongoing communication with carrier representatives to clarify coverage details, resolve issues, and stay informed about carrier guidelines and legislative changes. The Senior Account Manager brings hands-on experience across multiple funding arrangements — including level-funded, fully insured, and administrative services only (ASO) plans — and advises clients on the operational, financial, and risk-transfer implications of each option. They coordinate with carriers, stop-loss providers, and third-party administrators to manage billing, premium reconciliation, risk corridors, and funding-related reporting; support cost-modeling and scenario analysis during renewals; and help clients weigh trade-offs between cash flow, risk exposure, and plan flexibility when evaluating funding strategies. Compliance activities are integrated into daily tasks, such as coordinating Form 5500 filings and advising clients on PCORI fees, Medicare Part D, Section 125, ACA, and COBRA requirements. These efforts are supported by regular meetings with producers and Account Executives to ensure all renewal requirements are met. The Senior Account Manager also oversees enrollment and renewal processes, confirming benefits, rates, and employee contributions, coordinating with benefits administration or enrollment vendors, arranging carrier training for client HR teams, and preparing benefit guides and presentations for open enrollment. They gather claims data and employee feedback to support renewals, request updated proposals from carriers when assigned, and participate in quarterly client calls and prospect meetings. Throughout their work, they identify opportunities to enhance coverage options and collaborate with the Account Executive and marketing team to develop competitive renewal strategies. This role requires a continuous balance of day-to-day service, strategic thinking, and ongoing learning to deliver accurate, compliant, and responsive support as the primary client contact.
