About The Position

The Senior Account Manager will demonstrate the ability to handle specialized and most complex books of business and insurance service tasks. Will demonstrate leadership skills and serve as an expert resource and/or role model for less-experienced co-workers. Effective personal interactions are necessary to contribute positively to the team. While the role does not directly supervise others, mentoring, training, and supporting the overall growth and success of the team is a requirement of this position. Size of book may be flexible dependent on the employee’s ability to handle additional tasks. Will be required to maintain an awareness of market conditions and provide feedback and/or training to team members at management’s request, as well as demonstrate their ability to handle special projects.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • P & C Insurance Producer License Required
  • Six or more years insurance brokerage or property casualty insurance experience in account management role preferred
  • Construction Experience Preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in training others
  • Effective mentoring abilities, fostering teamwork
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong reading comprehension and analysis skills
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organization and follow up skills
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet utilization
  • Applied EPIC Agency Management System experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Service day-to-day client needs including, fielding phone calls, email, and other communication relative to coverage questions, policy changes, payments, cancellations, etc.
  • Manage the execution of all aspects of client renewal process including obtaining updated information, marketing, terms and pricing negotiation, quote review, presentation of renewal numbers to the Producer and the client where applicable and invoicing
  • Review quote documents to ensure all insurance requirements are included in quote proposal
  • Manage client relationship ensuring satisfaction
  • Manage and delegate work as needed to Associate Account Managers I and II, and Account Managers I and II to ensure their progress and workload is appropriate
  • Manage and maintain relationships with underwriters to ensure positive results for clients, and negotiate coverage with underwriters
  • Ensure the completion of proposals, binding of coverage, review of policies for accuracy and creation of client policy summaries and binders
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining electronic records
  • Use best practices and internal broker standards for service and maintenance of client files and information
  • Train, mentor and collaborate with team members to share and educate on coverage, exposures and client knowledge
