Requirements

  • More than four years of progressive business development experience selling business-to-business or business-to-consumer solutions.
  • More than four years of experience selling to directors, vice presidents, and C-level executives.
  • A demonstrated history of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience prospecting for and developing new business.
  • Experience managing strategic, enterprise-level, revenue-generating accounts.
  • Experience applying structured sales methodologies such as solution selling, value-based selling, and account planning.
  • Strong customer-facing and customer service experience.
  • Completed post-secondary education.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain management, courier, freight, or related services.
  • Knowledge of hub, depot, terminal, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience selling premium services or complex customer solutions.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform for activity management, sales progression, pipeline management, and forecasting.
  • Strong consultative selling, influencing, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility and build lasting relationships with senior customer contacts.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong business judgment, problem-solving ability, and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to understand factors that affect customer profitability and solution feasibility.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple perspectives and translate customer needs into practical sales, service, operational, billing, or technology solutions.

  • Adaptability when business conditions, customer priorities, or sales plans change.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of requests with professionalism, urgency, and attention to the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned quarterly and annual sales targets by generating leads, pursuing assigned opportunities, and managing a defined portfolio of prospective accounts.
  • Develop and execute territory and account plans that support sustainable new-business growth.
  • Build relationships with directors, vice presidents, C-suite executives, and other key decision-makers.
  • Identify customer challenges and present transportation and supply chain solutions that deliver measurable business value.
  • Prepare and coordinate customer presentations, proposals, quotes, bids, requests for information, and requests for proposal.
  • Lead sales discussions and coordinate multidisciplinary internal resources as part of a collaborative sales process.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast opportunities through Salesforce or a comparable customer relationship management platform.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and engage Sales leadership and internal partners when additional support is required for complex opportunities.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for customer escalations and collaborate with internal teams to deliver timely solutions.
  • Partner with Operations, Revenue Management, Legal, Contracts, and other stakeholders to align customer growth strategies with service and operational requirements.
  • Attend relevant trade shows, conferences, and industry events to develop leads and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales processes and cross-functional ways of working using continuous-improvement principles.
