About The Position

Alert Labs is seeking an insurance industry expert to join their team as a Senior Account Executive. This role focuses on developing new business relationships with insurance carriers and brokers across Canada and the United States. The position requires a candidate with genuine credibility in the insurance space, who understands the language of underwriters, brokers, and risk managers, and can articulate how technology can reduce losses within a client's portfolio. This is a proactive sales position focused on new business acquisition, ideal for individuals skilled in cold outreach, pipeline management, and value-driven conversations grounded in insurance expertise. The Senior Account Executive will drive new business across North America through proactive outreach, account development, and solution-based selling targeting insurance providers. The role emphasizes hunting for new business and long-term value creation, building relationships with carriers, brokers, and managing general agencies (MGAs). The ideal candidate combines deep insurance industry knowledge with technical fluency in risk and loss prevention technology, acting as a trusted advisor to clients on both sides of the border.

Requirements

  • Recognized expert within the insurance industry, with a proven track record of success in B2B sales specifically within insurance
  • Ten or more years of demonstrated technical expertise selling risk and loss prevention solutions to insurance carriers, brokers, or related stakeholders
  • Strong, demonstrable understanding of how to reduce client losses within an insurance portfolio through technology and risk mitigation strategies
  • Direct experience working with insurance companies based in the United States is required
  • Must be able and willing to travel to the United States, approximately for 3–5 days each month as a core function of the role
  • Strong understanding of the insurance landscape, including property risk and loss prevention
  • Experience selling technology solutions (hardware, software, or integrated systems) is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-border sales cycles and close high-value deals
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and strong business acumen
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally without restriction
  • Deep credibility and fluency within the insurance industry
  • Relationship building and stakeholder management across US and Canadian insurance markets
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving, particularly around loss prevention and risk reduction
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into measurable business value
  • High level of professionalism and credibility within the insurance sector
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including managing frequent cross-border travel

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is considered an asset but not required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting insurance carriers, brokers, and related partners across the US and Canada
  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within the insurance sector, with a focus on developing long-term partnerships with insurers.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, including underwriters, risk engineers, and brokers
  • Present and demonstrate water monitoring hardware and software solutions and programs tailored to client needs, translating technical capability into measurable loss-reduction outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful implementation and client satisfaction
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline, balancing near-term milestones with long-term programs
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory considerations, and emerging risks related to water damage and property loss
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking functions across North America
