About The Position

As a Send-Out Laboratory Coordinator at IDEXX, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. You will assist in receiving and sending out samples for laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Positive attitude and energy to support colleagues.
  • Enjoy working in a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work reliably and precisely.
  • Strong computer skillset (e.g. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, other).
  • Master multi-tasker with the ability to shift priorities.

  • Proven track record of managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment and the ability to self-manage.
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals from multiple departments at multiple levels.

  • Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab – standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

Nice To Haves

  • A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and prepare samples for laboratory analyses and tests.
  • Prepare samples, record required information, and send samples to appropriate specialty lab area.
  • May be cross-trained to perform basic Laboratory Technician duties.
  • May be responsible for various support activities, including maintaining supply inventory, record-keeping, cleaning, clerical tasks, supply shipping and receiving, mail distribution and other related duties.
  • Collect and prepare samples as requested and/or required for R&D project teams.
  • Ships samples according to national (and international) regulations.
